We’re back from our third year at New England Textile Art’s Knit & Spin SPA weekend in Freeport, Maine. It was awesome. Last year, with a snowstorm forecast for Friday, we headed out early on Thursday and enjoyed the extra day so much that we decided to make it a plan for this year. When the dates were announced in June we made our reservations right away because rooms fill up within the hour.
There was swimming and eating and socializing and knitting and spinning and learning new things and oh, so much fun!
Emma finished her very first sweater.
Bart learned to knit the day before we left. I scored tickets to the taping of a special Knitting Show on Martha Stewart Live in NYC and all audience members MUST be knitters so Bart had to learn if he wanted to go…perfect timing since we were about to head out for a weekend immersed in knitting!
Awesome food at the Corsican Restaurant…delicious!
Time with friends old and new…priceless.
A visit with Gale, her hubby Lauri and their pooch Sunny on the way home…Emma LOVES Sunny!
Bart won fiber and Emma won knitting books.
Emma learned to spin on a drop spindle in the lobby of our hotel on Sunday morning and she loves it! We bought a spindle and some fiber before we headed home and she spun all the way home.
A snowstorm on Monday…gives us the opportunity to extend our SPA experience at home!
